(Please read my previous blog article for further information – listed on the right under Recent Articles)

It’s a beautiful morning in paradise but a tsunami is heading our way at approximately 500 mph. I will update throughout the day. It’s predicted that with multiple waves generated the tsunami waves could hit the Hawaiian Islands for a period of 6-10 hours this afternoon.

Red Road will close to through traffic at 10am. It is not known when it will reopen. This area has the benefit of 30′ cliffs to break the waves. Wave heights are guesstimated to be between 6-16 ft. It is good to bear in mind in the 1960 tsunami, they guesstimated 6″ waves and it was 35 feet.

I will update as possible. The 1960 tsunami was generated from the same area as yesterday’s earthquake in Chile.

  4. Yike! Anna, are you in Seaview? That’s were I dream of having a little cabin someday. Would really like to see and after pic. Have they evacuated you there too?

  5. Yes, in Seaview. Front row seats…No they’ve not evacuated Seaview – just the coastal road (Red Road).
